An on going series of a quote a day from those most worthy of individuals, writers… Disclaimer not all quotes are meant to inspire… Not all comments I make upon them are entirely honest either, occasionally Hannibal writes them…
I could probably do 364 days of Pratchett quotes, but I suspect by day 300 they might start to get a little thin… Nope, actually I suspect they wouldn’t… There are plenty of influences on my own writing, philosophy, style and life… And plenty of writers I would love to emulate to one degree or another… But of all of them Sir Terry sits supremely on top of the mountain. His anger and rage at the world drove his words, they were funny, they were insightful and often they taught lessons to a young man who would grow to adult hood reading Disc-world novels and haunting the streets of Ankh-Morepork.
I don’t pretend to write like him, if anything I am perhaps a little closer to Douglas Adams in style (according to other people, I would never make such a claim). But I understand the depths from which Terry wrote, for that same anger is often what fuels my own writing. So this quote means a lot to me…
